Palwise is owned and operated by Palwego LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how Palwego LLC ("Palwise", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Palwise mobile application and related services (the "Service"). Palwise provides AI-powered reply suggestions: you provide a screenshot of a conversation, and we generate suggested replies. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
Account information. When you create an account, we use a third-party authentication provider to sign you in. Depending on the method you choose, this includes your phone number, or the email address and name associated with your Apple or Google account, and a unique user identifier. During setup you also provide your name and date of birth, which we store with your account to identify you. We collect this directly from you and use it solely to authenticate you, maintain your account, and personalize the app.
Screenshots you submit for analysis. When you ask for reply suggestions, the screenshot you select is sent to our backend and to our AI provider — Google Gemini, via Google Cloud Vertex AI — to generate replies. On supported flows, text extracted from the screenshot on your device (via on-device text recognition) and your selected tone and relationship context are also sent to improve accuracy. The app discloses this and asks for your permission before your first analysis, and this content is sent only when you request replies — never in the background. We do not sell this content, use it for advertising, or use it to build a profile of you. See "How screenshots are handled" below.
Subscription and purchase information. If you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple. We use a third-party subscription-management provider to verify your subscription status. We receive your purchase/entitlement status and a purchase identifier, but we do not receive or store your full payment-card details — those are handled by Apple.
Usage information. We store a count of how many analyses you have performed and your current plan status in order to enforce free-tier limits and unlock Pro features. We do not store the content of your conversations alongside this count.
Analytics data. We use a third-party analytics provider to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. This includes events such as launching the app, requesting an analysis, copying a suggested reply, viewing the upgrade screen, and completing a purchase, along with related properties (for example, the selected tone, the number of messages, subscription status, and device/app information), a user identifier, and an approximate, city-level location derived from your IP address. We do not send the content of your conversations or screenshots to our analytics provider.
Technical information. Like most online services, our backend and service providers automatically receive limited technical data needed to deliver and secure the Service, such as your IP address, device/app version, and timestamps of requests. To support phone-number sign-in, Apple Push Notification service may deliver a silent verification notification to your device; we do not use push notifications for marketing.
Screenshots are processed only to generate reply suggestions for you, and only after you have granted the in-app permission. The image is transmitted securely over HTTPS to our backend and forwarded to Google Vertex AI (Gemini), our AI provider, to produce suggestions. We do not retain your screenshots on our servers after the suggestions are generated.
For Pro users, past analyses (including the related screenshot) are saved to a History stored on your device only — never on our servers — and are automatically deleted after the retention period you choose in Settings (3, 5, or 7 days). You can delete individual items or clear your entire History in the app at any time.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service, and only as needed for them to perform their function:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Cloud infrastructure & authentication provider | Sign-in, backend, storing account/usage status | Account identifiers, usage count, subscription status |
| Google Vertex AI (Gemini) | Generating reply suggestions (with your permission) | Screenshot image, extracted text, and tone/context you submit |
| Subscription-management provider | Subscription management and verification | Purchase/entitlement status, purchase identifier |
| Analytics provider | Product analytics | App usage events, related properties, user identifier, device/app info, approximate (IP-based) location |
| Apple (App Store / StoreKit) | Processing payments and sign-in with Apple | Payment details, Apple account identifier |
The only third parties that receive the content of your screenshots are our AI provider, Google Vertex AI (Gemini), and our backend infrastructure provider — and only after you grant the in-app permission. Each provider processes your data only to provide its service to us and is required, under its terms and data-processing agreements, to protect your information with safeguards equal to or greater than those described in this policy. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
We keep your account information and usage/subscription status for as long as your account is active. Screenshots are not retained on our servers after processing; any History you keep is stored on your device and auto-deleted per your chosen retention period (see Section 2). When you delete your account, we delete your account record and associated usage data. To prevent abuse of the free tier, we retain only a salted, irreversible hash of your sign-in identifier together with your free-usage count — this cannot be used to identify you and is used solely to restore the correct free-usage count if the same credentials register again.
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
We operate using infrastructure provided by our cloud service providers and may process and store information in the United States and other countries. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to these locations.
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
